170 working children immunized against Hepatitis B - May 2007
Glaxo SmithKline donated Hepatitis B medicine which was used to immunize 170 working children at CDC, the primary operational unit of CLEP. Glaxo SmithKline donated Hepatitis B medicines for the working children center at Shershah. Out of a total of 216 children to be vaccinated 170 children were immunized against the deadly disease. Dr. Behrouz Hashim and Mr. Sikander volunteered to administer to medicine. Also present at the event was Dr. Saqib Ali Shaikh, District Support Officer UNICEF Karachi. The effort at CDC has also been supported by the Rural Health Center at Shershah who have offered to keep the medicines refrigerated for them to be administered for their second dose six months later.
