"Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it become the practice of freedom, the means by which

men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in transformation of our world."

The ‘Improving Quality of Education Programme’ (IQEP) is a pilot initiative that aims to undertake quality interventions in selected primary schools within Hyderabad cluster of Sindh province. Spanning over 2 years, the interventions will target 6,000 children, 250 teachers, school heads and members of school management bodies in 30 schools from government, community-based and low-cost private school sectors.

The quality interventions will seek on expanding the curriculum and improving the teaching and delivery of learning through provision of learning material, training of teachers, capacity building of school heads and parental involvement sessions within the target schools. The programme will innovate and advocate for quality education interventions that aim at improving education delivery in target schools which can be used as a model for a larger scale intervention in the future.
