In order to apply people-centered marketing and advocacy practices in the public, private and community sectors, SEF has established a Marketing, Advocacy & Publications (MAP) Unit. Integrating a marketing and advocacy function into SEF’s organizational design primarily promotes the Foundation’s programs and paves way for communications between SEF and its stakeholders. Moreover, advocacy practices seek to establish linkages that would go a long way in generating technical, human and financial resources for the Foundation’s sustainability and growth as a viable public sector organization. The unit also aims to develop and implement awareness raising campaigns in consistency with SEF’s vision. MAP also undertakes small-scale researches to review existing practices and identify areas where policy based support can be extended for further strengthening of efforts.
The unit’s operations comprise development of social marketing strategies, advocacy and awareness raising campaigns on issues relating to education, health, development, media and environment. Social marketing campaigns, IEC material development, website development, collaborative initiatives with the media and communications strategy are all part of the MAP unit’s portfolio. The unit also produces a diverse range of publications on education & development issues to encourage discourse on theories and practices of varied educational and developmental efforts, locally and globally.
