The Launching Ceremony of "Ujhlee Rahain
The launching ceremony of adult education publication, “Ujhlee Rahain” was organized by the Sindh Education Foundation in Karachi on 11th of August, 2009. The publication has been authored by Professor Rehana Mughni, Program Advisor at SEF and has won various accolades from national and international organizations for her work in the field of adult education and women empowerment. This book was written with an aim to educate and spread awareness among the neo-literate women and deals with such topics as Hygiene, Self Awareness and Balanced Diet, etc.  Professor Anita Ghulam Ali (S.I.), (Managing Director, SEF) in her welcome address spoke about the plight of women in the country and the need for their education and empowerment for achieving development in the country. Professor Rehana Mughni, (Program Advisor SEF) introduced the publication to the audience. Mr Iqbal ur Rehman, (Director Education, National Commission for Human Development), Ms. Ismat Niaz (Provincial Secretary, Pakistan Girls’ Guide Association),Ms Dilshad Mirza (Deputy Director CIEC, Government of Sindh), Mr. Yousuf Jamal (Advisor to Governor) and Nasir Masood and Adnan Ahmed Siddiqui (Johnson & Johnson Pakistan) also spoke on the occasion. Ms. Fehmida Riaz, a famous Urdu writer, poet and feminist presided over the ceremony as the Guest of Honor while Mr Nisar Khoro, Speaker Sindh Assembly, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A story from the book was also enacted in front of the audience in the form of a play by the SEF’s team. Ms. Farhan Iqbal (FPCCI) and Begum Baji (Mufad-e-Niswan Trust) also graced the event.
