The Sindh Education Foundation has launched the third phase of ‘Promoting Private Schooling in Rural Sindh’ Project. The Project is currently providing per child fee subsidy to 300 private schools, whereas the third phase will add 700 new schools to the Project catering to a total of 250,000 direct beneficiaries across Sindh.

The new schools will be established across the ten selected districts of the province: Badin, Benazirabad, Dadu, Kambar Shahdadkot, Khairpur, Larkana, Mitthi, Sanghar, Thatta and Umerkot. Private sector is invited to partner in the process of extending free quality education to children from marginalized communities in remote areas.

 “Subsidy will be awarded @ Rs.350 per child per month for all the schools.”

The school locality criteria are as follow:

• No other primary school of any kind should be located within the radius of 1.5 km of proposed school site within a habitation
• Availability of minimum 1600 square feet open, well demarcated space. In case the building is already available, children should be accommodated at 8 sq. ft. space per child in a room (Mandatory).
• Availability of at least one potential female with minimum qualification of grade 8 (Middle Pass) who is willing to teach in the new school.
