Research
The Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) is engaged in generating knowledge on critical issues in education and development through extensive application of qualitative and quantitative research techniques including elaborated review of secondary data. Not only the information is elicited but it is analyzed and is related to the existing body of knowledge for its wider relevance. The research unit at SEF is responsible to provide conceptual and intellectual guidance to all the programs of SEF and assist other organizations in conducting research according to their criteria.

Monitoring
The Foundation monitors, evaluates and disseminates information related to educational projects within and outside SEF. It also reviews the changes in policies and their probable influence on the educational scenario in Pakistan. The Monitoring & Evaluation Unit at the Sindh Education Foundation has also been involved in evaluating the benefits of various educational projects within communities in Sindh. The unit has undertaken consultancies for assessing and training NGOs in the areas monitoring & evaluation.
