Sindh Education Foundation’s celebration of "World Environment Day" in Karachi.

Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) took a commendable lead in promoting environmental awareness by organizing "World Environment Day" at a local hotel in Karachi. The participation of esteemed guests and school partners of SEF was a reflection that all the necessary measures to fight against environmental issues be taken to mitigate the consequences. Mr. Akhlaq Ahmed Qureshi, Director General of Climate Change and Coastal Development Authority, shed light on the issues of climate change and urged immediate action to protect our planet. Mr. Muhammad Rabbani, Convener FPCCI Central Standing Committee on ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ critically analyzed the prevailing environmental and climatic issues faced by Pakistan. Indicating the current Theme of World Environment Day #Beat the Plastic Pollution that it is the responsibility of both World Leaders and Private Individuals to reduce toxic waste to safeguard the planet Earth. Dr. Khalid Mehmood, Convener of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), emphasized the critical role of businesses and industries in combatting against environmental challenges. He gave true picture and solutions of environment degradation in terms of increasing deforestation, non-degradable plastic waste, seawater intrusion in Indus Delta, and impending food insecurity across different regions of Pakistan. The event was captivated by Ms. Alishba Grade IX student from Dream Foundation School through her enthusiastic speech advocating environmental preservation by means of community cohesion. The Emphasis on Environment was further highlighted by respectable school partners of Sindh Education Foundation. In this respect Mr. Aijaz represented Kiran Public school detailing One child and One tree initiative to promote plantation by children early in their lives. Ms. Laila Dosa as Chairperson of JS Academy for the Deaf and Noor E Ali Trust Park praised her students contributing towards environmental conservation despite challenged of hearing abilities. The Managing Director of SEF, Mr. Abdul Kabir Kazi while addressing the participants at World Environment Day highlighted SEF's ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness among students, including their involvement in the "green school" concept expressing gratitude to all participants for their dedication to environmental protection. The event concluded as a powerful platform for dialogue, education, and inspiration for adopting sustainable environmental solutions.
