In line with the visionary leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister Sindh, Chief Secretary Sindh, and Minister for Education Sindh, the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) organized a high-level Regional Partners’ Conference at Cadet College Larkana.
The event brought together over 400 school partners and stakeholders from the Larkana Region and District Dadu. The conference aimed to advance access to equitable, inclusive, and quality education through collaborative public-private partnerships.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Gahanwer Ali Laghari, Managing Director SEF, and attended by senior leadership including Ms. Shahpara Rizvi, Deputy Managing Director (Operations); Mr. Nisar Ahmed Banbhan, Director Programs & Planning; Ms. Mona Zubedi, Deputy Director Advocacy & Communications; as well as District Heads from Dadu, Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and Kashmore.
In his keynote address, Mr. Laghari emphasized that mutual respect and shared accountability are the cornerstones of enduring partnerships. “School partners are valued leaders in their communities, not merely implementers. Their dedication and leadership are essential to the accomplishment of our educational objectives,” he noted. He urged all partners to cultivate inclusive school environments that both educate and inspire, especially in underserved communities.
Mr. Laghari also announced several key initiatives including: the launch of province-wide quiz competitions to promote academic engagement; timely delivery of textbooks to all SEF-supported schools upon receipt from the Sindh Textbook Board; regular assessments aligned with standardized testing; establishment of book banks to encourage sharing and minimize waste; institutionalization of frequent school visits by SEF monitoring teams; equitable subsidy structures for rural and urban schools; implementation of a unified curriculum across SEF schools; and formation of alumni networks in each school to track long-term impact.
Ms. Shahpara Rizvi, in her address, highlighted the importance of instilling core values in students before focusing solely on academic learning. “Where strong values exist, quality education follows. We must first raise children with purpose before we teach them with books,” she said. She also encouraged the use of low-cost learning materials to enhance student understanding beyond textbooks.
Mr. Nisar Ahmed Banbhan spoke about the importance of nurturing learning environments that spark curiosity and critical thinking. “Children are naturally vocal and inquisitive. Our responsibility is to provide a safe and engaging space where their questions are welcomed and their thirst for knowledge grows,” he emphasized.
Ms. Mona Zubedi drew attention to the pressing need for dedicated efforts in promoting girls’ education. “In our current social fabric, the enrollment rate of girls remains alarmingly low. This requires urgent and serious attention. Educating one girl transforms an entire household—and eventually, the community,” she stressed.
The conference concluded with an interactive session in which school operators shared field experiences, local challenges, and innovative community-based practices. The gathering reaffirmed SEF’s commitment to collaborative growth, policy innovation, and inclusive educational development for all children across Sindh.
