The Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) Govt of Sindh organized a Regional Partners’ Conference at Sukkur IBA University, bringing together more than 360 school partners from Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki. The event aimed to strengthen collaboration and align educational efforts with the evolving needs of students in underserved regions.
The conference was presided over by SEF’s Managing Director, Mr. Gahanwer Ali Laghari, who reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring not only access to education but also its quality. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of strengthening accountability mechanisms, ensuring timely resource delivery, and creating inspiring school environments. “Our mission is not limited to opening schools but to nurturing institutions that encourage learning, creativity, and confidence,” he stated.
Mr. Laghari also assured the school partners of timely textbook distribution, ongoing school support visits, and responsive follow-ups to address on-ground challenges. He attentively listened to and addressed the concerns raised by school representatives during an interactive Q\&A session.
Deputy Managing Director SEF, Ms. Shahpara Rizvi, highlighted the importance of value-based education and advocated for an approach that instills purpose, ethics, and critical thinking in students. She encouraged the use of affordable and interactive learning resources to enhance traditional teaching methods.
Director Programs & Planning, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Banbhan, emphasized the need for a shift in classroom culture by promoting curiosity and inquiry-based learning. “A classroom must be a safe, inclusive space where students feel free to ask questions, challenge ideas, and grow intellectually,” he noted.
Deputy Director of the Advocacy and Communication Unit, Ms. Mona Zubedi, underscored the urgent need to improve girls’ enrollment and address gender disparities in education. “Educating a girl means empowering a family, a community, and a generation,” she said.
