SEF and S&YAD Sign MoU to Establish Professional Development Center for Youth Skill Training

The Sindh Education Foundation, Govt. of Sindh and Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Govt. of Sindh sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Establish Professional Development Center for Training of Youth. Karachi, May 9, 2023 - The Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Development (S&YAD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Professional Development Center (PDC) for training the youth of the province. The signing ceremony was held at the Sindh Secretariat and was presided by Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, Chief Secretary Sindh and the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Youth Development, along with various Secretaries to the Government of Sindh and the Senior Management of SEF and S&YAD. Under this MoU, S&YAD will provide access to SEF for all the facilities at their center in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi, including halls and auditoriums, for undertaking training programs for teachers, head teachers, master trainers, and employees of SEF. Meanwhile, SEF will lead subject-specific training activities for developing the skills of teachers. The center will also serve as an important avenue for non-formal education, which includes structured learning activity outside of the formal educational system. This may include a wide range of activities such as training programs, community-based learning, vocational education, and personal development courses. Addressing the signing ceremony, Mr. Abdul Kabir Kazi, Managing Director of SEF, expressed his optimism that the PDC would be a cornerstone of training aimed at capacity building of youth in futuristic learning such as STEM and Digital Education. The success of the center will be expanded to regional-based PDCs for wider access to training facilities in the near future. The success of this PDC was further highlighted by Ms. Sadaf Anees, Deputy Managing Director (Operations) of SEF, and the ceremony was also addressed by Mr. Abdul Hadi Bullo, Secretary Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh. In the end, Mr. Naeem Anwar, Deputy Managing Director (Support Services) of SEF, offered a vote of thanks. This occasion marks a significant milestone in the efforts of the Sindh Government to promote education and skill development in the province, particularly among disadvantaged areas. The establishment of the PDC is expected to provide a much-needed boost to youth development and training programs in Sindh.
